TEACHER
REPS, PLEASE DISTRIBUTE TO POTENTIAL WORKSHOP PRESENTERS
Guidelines for Teacher Workshop Presenters
ETC 2006, March 30 - April 1
Manila, Philippines
1.
A one-page synopsis of the material to be covered should be submitted
to your ETC teacher rep well in advance of the submission of your
workshop proposal form to the EARCOS office.
2. Workshop sessions will be one hour in length.
3. Discuss your workshop with an experienced presenter in your school.
4. On the EARCOS Workshop Proposal Form, please be sure to indicate
the appropriate grade level(s) and target audience and provide a title
and a 50-word description which accurately describe your workshop.
5. Limited audiovisual equipment will be available. You must indicate
your requests on the Workshop Proposal Form before it is submitted
to EARCOS. Late requests for audio/visual equipment cannot
be considered, as room assignments for presentations are determined
primarily on audio visual requirements, in order to prevent excessive
transfer of equipment from room to room during the conference. If
you have NO audio/visual requirements, please write “NONE’
on the Workshop Proposal Form.
*Computers will not be available—if you need one, you should
bring it with you. A limited number of infocus projectors will
be available–we may not be able to provide them. Teachers may
bring their own.
6 . On the workshop proposal form, please provide the name of the
person from your school who will act as your aide—to distribute,
collect, and return to the EARCOS registration desk evaluations, check
room set up, distribute any handouts, act as a trouble-shooter if
anything goes wrong, etc. Workshop proposals cannot be considered
if this line is blank.
7 . Submit your completed proposal to your teacher rep by his/her
deadline. Workshop proposals must reach the EARCOS office by November
17, 2005. Workshops must be field-tested and evaluated at
your school first, and your proposal must be commented on and signed
by your teacher rep and head of school or his/her designee.
8 . Conference delegates find handouts helpful; however, bear in mind
that photocopying facilities are very expensive at the conference
hotel and that copies cannot be made by EARCOS. Presenters should
hand carry to the conference 40-50 copies of handouts for distribution
by your aide as delegates arrive at the workshop. Alternatively, presenters
can post handouts on their own or their school’s web site, and
EARCOS will distribute the web site address.
PLEASE NOTE:
ONLY
A LIMITED NUMBER OF PROPOSALS CAN BE SELECTED EACH YEAR.
YOUR FORM MUST BE CLEARLY PRINTED or TYPED AND
CONTAIN ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION, PHOTOS, COMMENTS, AND SIGNATURES.
LATE OR INCOMPLETE PROPOSALS CANNOT BE CONSIDERED AS SELECTIONS PROCESS
