SPECIAL PHYSICAL EDUCATION INSTITUTE

Over the past year and a half a dedicated group of PE Professionals from the EARCOS region have been meeting and planning the 2010 ETC PE Institute to be held in conjunction with the 2010 EARCOS conference in Manila (ETC). Chaired by Jon Wrzesinski (Shanghai American School) the committee is comprised of members, Andy Vaughn (International School Bangkok), Karen Seevers (American International School Japan), Cheryl Fullerton (Pasir Ridge International School), Jason Martin (Brent International School Manila), Steven Dodd and Dave Allen (International School Manila).

The PE Institute includes a one-day pre-conference will commence on March 25 at the International School of Manila Campus with Keynote Speakers Ted and Carolyn Temertzoglou who bring a wealth of PE/Health Experience to the conference. Both have presented extensively overseas with the latest being at the 2009 ECIS conference in Zurich.  Carolyn will present on Teaching Games for Understanding  which employs differentiated instruction as the main framework as well as Assessment and evaluation focusing on all levels K-12. Ted's workshops will concentrate on FUNctional Fitness Blasts for the secondary level as well as Healthy Active Living: A Foundation for a Healthy School and Getting online with Exercise Science
