We’re pleased that you’re considering membership in the East Asia Regional Council of Schools. EARCOS is a collaborative community dedicated to supporting high-quality international education through professional learning, research, and shared practice. The application process outlined below is designed to be transparent and supportive, helping us understand your organization and its alignment with EARCOS’ mission and values. We appreciate your interest and look forward to learning more about your work and the ways we might work together to strengthen international education across the region.
School Membership
EARCOS Member Schools comprise elementary and secondary schools of international character and which offer an educational program that is internationally minded in style and substance, delivering through the medium of the English language and appropriate for the ages, needs, and abilities of the students enrolled in the school.
EARCOS Region
The EARCOS region is defined geographically as East and Southeast Asia. Membership is open to international schools and educational organizations located within these regions.
Application Process

STEP 1:
Before applying, please review our membership fees and ensure that your school has a current accreditation letter from one of the following organizations:

Confirm that your school has a current accreditation letter from one of the following organizations:
- Association of Christian School International (ACSI)
- Advanced Education (COGNIA AdvanceEd)
- Council of International Schools (CIS)
- Council of British International Schools (COBIS)
- Centre for British Teachers (CfBT) - OfSted
- Middle States Association (MSA)
- Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges (NASAC)
- New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
- Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)
STEP 2:
The Head of School or designate completes the EARCOS membership interest form.
STEP 3:
An invoice will be sent to pay a $260 non-refundable fee to begin the application process. Payment must be made through a credit card that can process payments in U.S. dollars.
STEP 4:
Upon receipt of payment, the EARCOS application form is sent. Please submit all required documents as contained in the EARCOS Application Document Submission form.
The application fee is valid for a period of three (3) months from the date of payment. All required documentation must be submitted within this period in order for the application to remain active.
Applications that are incomplete or inactive after three months will be considered withdrawn, and a new application fee will be required should the school wish to reapply.
STEP 5:
The Executive Director of EARCOS will communicate the final decision of the organization regarding the school’s membership application in writing to the Head of School.
Based on the total enrollment reported in the membership information form, an invoice will be issued. Membership is confirmed only upon full receipt of payment.
