Dear EARCOS Colleagues,
On behalf of the EARCOS Board of Trustees, we are pleased to share an important leadership update with our community.
Following a thoughtful and comprehensive search process, the Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Laurie McLellan as the next Executive Director of EARCOS, with his tenure beginning in August 2027. We extend our sincere appreciation to all those who contributed to this rigorous and meaningful process.
Laurie brings over two decades of experience as a Head of School across multiple regions, with a deep understanding of the diverse contexts that shape international education. His work reflects a sustained commitment to student learning, the growth of educators, and the advancement of inclusive and equitable practices.
Beyond his school leadership, Laurie has contributed extensively to the international education community through board service and leadership roles with organizations such as CIS, NESA, ACAMIS, and EARCOS. This combination of institutional leadership and governance experience positions him well to guide EARCOS forward with clarity and purpose. His experience aligns strongly with EARCOS’s mission to foster professional learning, build meaningful connections, and support innovation across our member schools.
Laurie is widely respected as a thoughtful and adaptive leader who values collaboration, listens deeply, and leads with humility. He brings both continuity and fresh perspective, honoring the strong foundations of EARCOS while advancing its impact across the region.
Laurie will work closely with current Executive Director Dr. Ed Greene over the coming year to ensure a thoughtful and seamless transition.
We also wish to recognize the continued leadership of Dr. Ed Greene, whose contributions to EARCOS remain deeply valued. We look forward to celebrating his years of service with the community in the coming months.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Laurie McLellan as we look ahead to the next chapter of EARCOS.
All good wishes,
Dr. Catriona Moran
Board President
