Biography: Mary teaches G1 and is EARCOS rep at UWCSEA, East Campus, Singapore. Mary has taught across Asia for close to 20 years. She is eager to promote Positive Education and belongs to strong network in Singapore. UWCSEA is exploring the Reggio Emilia Approach to education. We also focus on promoting a service education with our students.

Biography: Marisol Maranan is a Third-Culture-Kid who has taught English and ESL. She is currently the school counselor of Grades 3-5 at Brent International School Manila, a position she has held for the past 20 years.

ROSEANA RICHARDS, Brent International School Manila
Biography: Roseana Richards worked as a vocational guidance/family counselor for several years as a State of Michigan employee in the United States. For the last three years she has been overseas in the role of a school counselor/college placement and middle school counselor. Growing up in South America and later moving to the United States, Caribbean and Philippines, Roseana has extensive experience with cultural awareness from many perspectives and in many different roles.

MICHELLE CHOW-LIU, Western Academy of Beijing
Biography: For the last seven years, Michelle Chow-Liu has been a high school counselor working with students from grade 9 to 12. Originally from Vancouver, BC she has lived in Beijing for the past 14 years. She holds a Master in School Guidance and Counseling and a College Counseling certificate from UCLA Extension Program. Michelle speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese, and has just started learning Korean.

Biography: Rosemary has been teaching 7th grade science at the International School of Beijing for 4 years, with a total of 15 years in the science classroom. As the Curriculum Area Leader for Middle School Science, she has facilitated ISB's early adoption of NGSS standards where they have been in full implementation for 3 years. Through lots of reading, workshops and trial and error, she continues to hone her practice in providing a top-notch science education to her students.

SHANNON DOEL, International School Ulaanbaatar
Biography: Over the last 15 years, I have taught in a variety of settings and subjects. I have taught in Canada, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia using different curriculums. Currently I am a MYP math (grades 6 & 8) and inclusive education teacher at the International School of Ulaanbaatar using the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

Biography:
John Whalley is currently the Department Head of Mathematics at Brent International School, Philippines. He is a Senior Examiner with IB and is also involved in professional development leading both online and face to face workshops.
Roy Tomlinson is a 15 year veteran of international teaching and is currently teaching AP Stats and Algebra 1 at the American School in Japan in Tokyo. He enjoys travel, yoga and Japanese sake.
Patrick Hillman is a mathematics teacher with over sixteen years experience teaching in multiple countries under different education systems. Currently he is the Program Leader for High School Mathematics in the International School Manila overseeing and leading a large department in delivering the IB program.

Biography: Chris is the Director of Professional Development, Curriculum, Accreditation at Chiang Mai International School. He is involved with the National Council of Social Studies, Arizona Council of Social Studies, National Council for History Education, and a former board member of the Arizona Council of History Education; he believes history education is critical to global citizenship.

Biography: Ronelda is the Superintendent of Chiang Mai International School and former principal of international and US schools. Her passion is working with teachers and students to build strong learning communities. She has worked with Tribes for over 20 years and is an internationally certified Tribes TLC Trainer.

LAURA KAUFMAN, American International School Hong Kong
Biography: Laura Kaufman teaches 8th grade Humanities, and has been developing a pilot program for middle school service learning over the past 2 years. She's been in Hong Kong for 3 years, and was taught in Colombia previously. Her classes focus on empowering students and connecting content to global issues.
